Job Title: Machinist
Location: Coventry
Hours: Mon – Thurs (07:00 – 15:30), Fri (07:00 – 12:30)
Duration: Permanent
This is an opportunity to join a busy manufacturing team producing carbon brake discs for the aerospace sector. The role involves working in a fast‑paced machine shop environment with a strong focus on quality, output, and teamwork.
An experienced CNC Setter/Operator who is comfortable working in a high‑volume environment and is open to developing additional skills, such as TIG welding, this role would suit you!
Responsibilities
* Setting and operating CNC and conventional machines
* Working across:
o Conventional 1‑spindle turning machines (CNC controlled)
o 3‑axis CNC milling machines
o 4‑axis CNC milling machines
* Ensuring parts meet engineering drawings and specifications
* Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and plug gauges
* Basic assembly work when required (e.g. rivets and clips)
* Maintaining quality and output in a high‑pressure production environment
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a machine shop environment
* 2–3 years’ experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (aerospace preferred but not essential)
* Experience with setting and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and standards
* Confident using inspection and measuring equipment
