Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the position of Post Award Manager in the Research Office. The Post Award Manager will play a central role in supporting the Research Office through a period of transformation, providing strong, positive leadership to guide the post award support teams through change and embed new processes.
Responsibilities
The Post Award Manager is responsible for leading and managing the post award support team to provide oversight of a portfolio of the University's externally funded research grants. The role-holder is responsible for delivering a high‑quality professional service to the University and ensuring the operation of an efficient and effective post award function. They will oversee the provision of appropriate and timely financial reporting to all levels of the research community and other internal stakeholders.
The post holder reports directly to the Head of Post Award and works in partnership with School‑facing Assistant Directors to ensure a seamless transition from award to active management and project close‑out.
Qualifications
* Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines.
* Visible and confident leader with a proactive, positive and solutions‑focused style, capable of motivating a team through periods of change and operational pressure.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex issues clearly to senior academic, corporate and government representatives.
* Experience of research grants administration is essential.
* Proficient in using Microsoft IT packages.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Flexible Working and Hybrid Arrangement
We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part‑time working (min 80%) or other flexible working arrangements. The role supports hybrid working, allowing staff to split their time between in‑person collaboration and remote working. This role requires onsite attendance in Cambridge for a minimum of two days per week. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
