Apprentice Programme: Level 4 Software Developer with Firebrand
During this apprenticeship, you will be part of the Enterprise Integration team which is the function within Group Information Services responsible for the delivery of all group integration solutions. Our goal is to ensure we deliver professional integrations both internally and externally that maximise efficiencies and minimise costs.
We deliver, maintain and support integration solutions both at a group level and country level across all our operating countries. We are focused on delivering outstanding customer service and commercially viable solutions whilst ensuring that our solutions are secure, stable, and reliable. What you’ll do
For the duration for your programme, you will be studying towards a level 4 Software Developer qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship you will dedicate 80% of your time in work and 20% studying toward your qualification.
You will be responsible for the implementation of and support integration solutions, where your time will be split between the implementation of integrations, providing support after implementation, and dealing with customer management. You can expect responsible challenges with a lot of room for your own initiative. Other responsibilities include:
1. You will advise internal customers on the design and further development of processes in the Integration environment.
2. Support and functionally develop integrations either at a country or global level.
3. Quickly process and apply new technical information as required.
4. Analyse, optimize, design existing and new integrations in business-to-business solutions.
5. Establishes ongoing working relationships with various customers.
6. Learn and work to various standards: Industry, Computacenter & customer ones.
7. Managing many different connectivity methods and security practices
8. Takes care of service requests.
9. Documents requests for improvements, communicates requests to development teams.
10. Plans and develops tests and carries them out. Eliminates errors and performs tests again to achieve an error-free result.
11. You carry out third line support activities and configuration requests.
12. If you are interested and are suitable, you will take responsibility for (partial) projects. You will receive individual training and coaching from experienced colleagues and will be supported in your personal development.
What you’ll need
As you can tell this exciting role will give you a lot of skills and knowledge, but we do have some requirements upfront. As well as a strong interest in IT you should be able to demonstrate the following.
13. You will need to have achieved GCSE’s in Maths, English Language GCSE grade 4/ C or above. If you do not hold these grades in both English and Maths, we can support you to gain this by the time you complete your apprenticeship.
14. IT subject desirable but have some knowledge of a coding/ development language.
15. Competent user of the MS Office suite applications (Visio, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
16. Time management skills
17. Good communications skills
18. Extensible Markup Language (XML) desirable but not essential.
