We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join a growing mission-critical facilities team supporting a live data centre environment in the Surrey area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer with experience in critical environments to work within a high-availability operation supporting enterprise and hyperscale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems
* Supporting UPS, generators, cooling systems, HVAC, and BMS infrastructure
* Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
* Responding to alarms and critical incidents
* Managing permits to work and ensuring H&S compliance
* Supporting contractors and specialist vendors onsite
* Maintaining operational logs and reports
* Supporting resilience testing and operational improvements
Experience Required
* Previous experience in a data centre, critical environment, or building services role
* Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure
* Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
* Knowledge of critical cooling and power systems
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications Preferred
* NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical
* HV/AP training beneficial
* IOSH or NEBOSH advantageous
