We are recruiting a specialist Rough Sleeper Experienced Social Worker to undertake a role which promotes joint working between the local authority Adult Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and the Housing Rough Sleeping teams.
We are seeking an experienced social worker who is confident in taking a strength-based approach to person-centred practice, is a capable and organised practitioner not afraid to work autonomously and who is comfortable with managing risk. The ability to take a trauma informed approach to assessment and intervention, along with considering executive dysfunction and promoting the person’s voice is key.
The successful candidate must have sound legal literacy around core legislation including: Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act and Human Rights Act and be able to ‘see the person, not the stereotype’.
You will being a strong communicator and be able to ‘think outside of the box’ when working with individuals who require a non-standardised approach. Experience of working with individuals living with mental ill health and substance use challenges, who have experienced abuse and alongside people with no recourse to public funds will be particularly useful.
Most importantly, you will demonstrate strong social work values in your daily work, tenacity, professional curiosity and recognise the importance of building relationships with your clients.
This role is fixed term for 12 months and is funded by the Rough Sleeping Initiative.
You will work operationally with the Rough Sleeper team but co-locate, be aligned with and receive line management and professional social work supervision from, the MASH team. Assertive outreach is a core element of the role, therefore flexibility is a key attribute. The post holder may be required to work outside core hours to meet the needs of the client group.
