We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a well-established, family-run Italian restaurant just outside Ferndown.
This is an exciting opportunity for a chef with a strong background in Italian cuisine who enjoys working with fresh ingredients and delivering memorable dining experiences. Youll oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, manage a small supportive team, and ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.

£35,000-£38,000 DOE + share of tips
38 hours per week - 3 split shifts & 2 straight shifts (Wednesday-Sunday, closed Monday & Tuesday)

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and service to ensure quality and consistency
Develop menus reflecting seasonal ingredients and authentic Italian flavours
Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
Train and mentor team members in culinary skills, safety, and service standards
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Handle kitchen-related issues or emergencies promptly and effectively
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef within a professional kitchen
Hands-on expertise in Italian cuisine (essential)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a small team
Sound knowledge of food production techniques and stock management
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practice
A passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering exceptional dining experiences
