Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their busy Belfast Head Office finance team.About the JobReporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day running of the finance function across multiple group entities. This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure to management accounts, month-end reporting, transactional finance, reconciliations, and commercial reporting.The successful candidate will:Assist with financial reporting and month-end processesSupport transactional finance activities across the GroupComplete reconciliations and maintain accurate financial recordsAssist with VAT, payroll support, and audit preparationProvide financial support to operational teams across the wider businessSupport the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and team developmentThis role would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to develop within a dynamic and fast-moving commercial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts across multiple entitiesSupport purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll processesAssist with fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, and Intrastat reportingComplete balance sheet and bank reconciliationsSupport month-end processes including journals, accruals, and prepaymentsAssist with supplier invoice processing and payment runsSupport credit control and customer account reconciliations when requiredProvide financial support to operational teams across the wider GroupMaintain accurate financial records in line with company proceduresAssist with year-end audit preparationSupport the Financial Controller with team leadership, training, and developmentAssist with ad hoc finance projects and reporting dutiesYour Skills & ExperiencePart-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)Minimum 2 years finance experience within a busy accounts environmentExperience working across multiple entities would be advantageousExperience using SageStrong reconciliation and month-end accounting experienceAbility to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environmentExcellent communication skills and strong attention to detailOrganised, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a teamFor further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your finance career, get in touch with Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.WHJS1_NI
