Role SummaryAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Governance professional to join a growing data-focused function supporting organisations in strengthening how they manage, control and leverage their data assets.This position involves working across a range of sectors to establish and enhance data governance capabilities. The successful individual will contribute to the development of frameworks, policies and processes that ensure data quality, integrity and regulatory compliance, while enabling better business decision-making.The role combines both strategic input and hands-on delivery, including the design and implementation of governance structures, data management practices and supporting technologies. You will engage with stakeholders across business and technology teams to embed sustainable governance practices across complex environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess current data maturity and identify improvement opportunitiesSupport the design and rollout of data governance frameworks and operating modelsDevelop governance policies, standards and controlsDefine data ownership, stewardship and accountability structuresImplement data quality processes, including monitoring and remediationSupport deployment of data governance tools (e.g. Collibra, Purview, Informatica)Maintain data catalogues, metadata and lineage documentationFacilitate stakeholder workshops to define key data elements and governance requirementsProvide guidance on best practice data governance approachesDeliver high-quality documentation and manage workstreams across multiple initiativesExperience & CapabilitiesDegree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Information Systems or a related fieldRelevant certifications (e.g. DAMA CDMP, TOGAF or equivalent) are advantageous but not essentialExperience in data governance, data management or a related fieldUnderstanding of data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship principlesExposure to governance frameworks and operating model designFamiliarity with data governance tools and modern data environmentsAbility to engage stakeholders and communicate effectively across technical and business teamsExperience supporting data or digital transformation initiativesStrong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesNote: Candidates are not expected to meet every requirement listed.
