The role
Project work will be varied, with a strong focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, residential schemes, and other commercial development projects. Applicants must be flexible regarding travel and working hours, especially during survey periods, and be prepared to work away from home as required. A full driving license and access to a car are essential.
* Managing ecological projects (based on experience), assisting team leads with resource allocation and budgets, addressing client feedback, and ensuring effective communication on all projects.
* Producing and overseeing ecological appraisals, reports, license applications, Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, EPS licenses, and similar documents.
* Mentoring junior team members.
* Conducting ecological surveys as needed and ensuring staff adhere to survey standards.
* Supporting team leads in preparing fee proposals.

About you
* Experience managing ecological projects to completion and reporting to standards required by planning authorities, Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, and similar bodies.
* Experience preparing technical reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitat Regulations Assessments, and others.
* Experience in Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and designing solutions.
* Self-motivated with strong communication skills and team-oriented.
* Membership as an Associate or Full member of CIEEM or relevant institute.
* Specialisms such as ornithology, bats, or habitat restoration are desirable but not essential.
* Personal species licenses for bats, GCN, otter are desirable but not essential.
