Job Description Job Title - Manufacturing Engineer – Heat Treatment Working Pattern - Days Location - Derby What you will be doing: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Manufacturing Service Technician to join Rolls-Royce within Raynesway Manufacturing Services. Working within Electrical controls and Instrumentation, you will be responsible for the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance and planned calibration, of electronic control systems and instrumentation, installed on manufacturing assets including but not limited to CNC machines, Chemical Process Plants, Welding Assets, and Heat Treatment Assets. You will be required in delivering reactive corrective maintenance limiting impact of fault conditions on production operations. Responsibilities: With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following: Generating the technical package for the shop floor for the heat treatment of parts to ensure compliance to controlling specifications and meeting design requirements. This will include furnace programmes, data cards, procedures and defining the content for technical instructions, and manufacturing stage drawings. Using Build in Quality tools such as process maps, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEAs), and control plans. Overseeing running of the furnaces, resolving emergent issues, and providing technical oversight. Developing process capability and delivering new equipment. Day to day planning of projects in line with project requirements. Data review of furnace/pre-heat treatment charts. Liaising with other departments such as design, manufacturing, quality, materials and purchasing to ensure delivery of parts through the process to time, cost and quality. Spending time with heat treatment operators and resolving daily issues that may arise with pre-weld heat treatment setups. To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria: Degree qualified (or equivalent) or relevant industry technical experience, a passion to succeed and a vision of how modern manufacturing should be achieved. General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business. Analytical skills to interrogate data, create and conduct experimental trials and be adept at technical problem solving. Driven to improve and maintain the heat treatment processes. Excellent communications skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. NADCAP accreditation (desirable).
