Cranmore Executive Search is incredibly excited to support our client an award winning scaling femtech company in their search for a Head of Engineering. The successful candidate will take ownership of all core technical systems — from auditing current architecture to launching, and building a future-proof foundation for their growth.
You’ll be hands-on with code in the early months, using agency support for less critical tasks, and evolving into a strategic leader as they scale. You’ll collaborate closely with the awesome Founders, product designer, and PM, and will have the opportunity to hire and grow your own engineering team. You'll be the most senior engineer on the team, responsible for hands-on coding, system design, and day-to-day leadership of all engineering efforts.
This is a greenfield leadership opportunity to define how health data gets built, protected, and used at scale — with a meaningful impact on clinical care and diagnostics. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical ability with a passion for helping others deliver high-quality software. You’ll be expected to lead by example, through your code and code reviews, your decisions, and your drive to continuously improve how they build.
What You'll Own
* Audit and evaluate the current stack (MERN stack, Node JS, AWS, React JS, Flutter)
* Define the technical roadmap and system architecture across mobile and internal tools
* Build and launch secure, modular V1 versions of assets
* Lead major technical decisions (ADR culture: document as you go)
* Ensure build for compliance (GDPR, HIPAA) from the start
* Implement scalable practices in documentation, testing, and CI/CD
* Initially use agency support for low-complexity work; keep critical logic in-house
* Collaborate with product & design to build the right solutions for our users
* Grow an internal engineering team over the next 12–18 months
Who You Are

* Brings technical clarity and structure without adding unnecessary process
* You understand how to build fast, but aren’t sloppy — you value testing, clarity, and documentation
* You’re product-focused, someone who solves problems, not just ships code
* You’ve either built a team, managed vendors, or been a technical founder/early hire before
* Brings a sense of ownership and pride in their work; motivated by outcomes, not just tasks, and willing to go the extra mile when it matters.
* Bonus: Experience in healthtech, GDPR, or HIPAAmedtech, or real-world data environments
* Bonus: Past experience with data products
