We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join the team at HMP Dovegate, a Category B male prison located near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
HMP Dovegate has a total operational capacity of approximately 1,060-1,160 prisoners.
You will be joining a well-staffed and fully integrated healthcare team managing primary care, mental health, and substance misuse services.
Job summary
Hours 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday core office hours.
Salary This is a full-time role offering a salary between £62,000 – £68,000 per annum depending on experience, plus £4,000 car allowance and a 10% discretionary bonus.

Main duties of the job
As our new Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Provide management of the healthcare services on site, with overall responsibility for delivering a highly functional clinical service within agreed budgets.
* Maintain the strategic direction of the service, and deliver on agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England.
* Lead, develop and motivate your team to deliver the best service possible.
* Work closely with senior management within the prison, as well as the finance business partner and regional manager.
* Apply strong service delivery and change management experience.

Experience required
* Clinical or non-clinical applications welcome.
