Vacancies: Specialist Pharmacist (Gastro and Inflammatory Bowel)
Role Summary
This post is advertised as Band 8a, but applications are also invited from existing Band 7 pharmacists (or equivalent) who do not meet the B8a essential criteria. These applicants may be considered for the role as a development opportunity, requiring completion of training with support from clinicians and the pharmacy team over 1-2 years, depending on knowledge, experience, and demonstration of competence. A development plan with clear goals will support you in becoming a specialist pharmacist.
The post holder will work with the Gastroenterology team, including Consultants, ACP Pharmacists, and Specialist Nursing staff, providing specialist pharmacy input, supporting prescribing and monitoring biologic medicines. Opportunities for involvement in wider Gastroenterology activities, specialist training, leadership development, research, teaching, and role shaping are available. The role is based at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) in Barnstaple.
