Your Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role infacilitating development within the City of Stirling and enhancingthe quality of the built environment. You will bring yoursupervisory experience and deep understanding of statutory BuildingControl in a Local Government setting to handle complex cases andensure compliance with relevant legislation.
In this senior-level role, you will lead a team of buildingsurveyors, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensurehigh standards of performance and professional development withinthe team.
Your Responsibilities
* Customer Engagement &Liaison:Respond to enquiries, providepre-lodgement advice, and assess statutory applications.
* Assessment & Compliance:Conductinspections, statutory assessments, and process buildingapprovals.
* Records & Reporting:Maintainaccurate records and prepare reports for public meetings orlegal settings.
* Stakeholder Consultation:Engage withapplicants, councils, agencies, and the public to resolvecomplex matters.
* Team Oversight &Development:Supervise, mentor, and manage staff,including training compliance officers.
* Legal & TechnicalExpertise:Collect evidence, make recommendationsfor prosecutions, and provide expert compliance advice.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
* A tertiary degree or Advanced Diploma in Building Surveyingor an equivalent qualification.
* Registration as a Building Surveyor Practitioner Level 1 orLevel 2.
* Specialist knowledge of the Building Code of Australia andrelated standards.
* The ability to handle challenging customer situations withconfidence and professionalism.
* A valid "C" Class Driver’s Licence.
