Job description
Job Purpose:
To supervise classes to cover for teacher absence and support students through various services and clubs.
Main duties:
1. Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring all students are managed effectively.
2. Distribute work set by absent teachers and supervise students completing tasks, providing explanations to facilitate problem-solving.
3. Model solutions and answers to students as needed.
4. Manage student behaviour according to school policies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
5. Praise and motivate students, following the academy's reward system.
6. Support and implement Hartshill Academy's behaviour and discipline policies both in class and across the academy.
7. Cover as a tutor group mentor: register students, accompany them to assemblies, lead mentor activities, and promote student well-being and participation.
8. Assist the SEN team with class delivery and individual student support, enabling effective problem-solving and learning.
9. Prioritize safety of students and staff at all times.
