CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Shift: Permanent Day Shift – Mon‑Thurs 8am‑5pm, Fri‑8am‑2:30pm
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
The Role
* Programming, setting and operating 2‑axis CNC lathes
* Writing new CNC programs longhand at the machine
* Producing one‑off and short‑run precision components
* Working to tight tolerances and high‑quality surface finish requirements
* Carrying out in‑process inspection using measuring equipment
* Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven, time‑served CNC turning experience
* Confident programming at the machine with minimal supervision
* Experience with Fanuc‑controlled lathes (advantageous)
* Knowledge of Fanuc Manual Guide i and G‑code (advantageous)
* Strong understanding of precision engineering and inspection processes
* Experience working with a variety of metals
* Comfortable machining components from Ø25mm x 100mm up to Ø300mm x 3m in length (hoist lifting equipment and training provided)
* Self‑motivated, quality‑focused and able to hit the ground running
