Responsibility
* System Installation and Configuration:
o Install, configure, and maintain computer networks, including local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), and ensure network security and connectivity.
o Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
o Set up new user accounts and profiles, and manage access permissions.
o Radius Server configuration and AAA Services.
* Technical Support:
o Provide first-level support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
o Respond to technical support tickets and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
o Offer remote and on-site support as needed.
* Network Management:
o Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
o Monitor network performance to ensure systems are operating optimally and securely.
o Assist with the setup and maintenance of VPNs and other remote access solutions.
* System Maintenance:
o Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and security.
o Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing improvements as needed.
o Conduct routine audits of systems and software to ensure compliance with company policies.
* Documentation and Reporting:
o Document all technical procedures, system configurations, and user guides.
o Prepare and maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
o Generate regular reports on system performance, support ticket resolution, and network health.
* Project Involvement:
o Assist in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
o Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to deliver integrated solutions.
* Training and Development:
o Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for using IT systems.
o Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, and familiarity with Linux is a plus.
* Previous experience with the Oil and Gas sector will be preferred.
* In-depth understanding of network protocols, configurations, and security.
* Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting.
* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) is desirable.
* Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are advantageous.
