Overview
UHS Sussex is a leading acute trust committed to delivering excellent care across 70+ years of NHS history. This role is a key position within the PACS team, providing high quality, comprehensive and efficient administration support to all imaging system users across the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage all PACS queries received by phone and email, prioritising requests and actioning as appropriate.
* Extract data from PACS/RIS systems to support radiology data management and conduct basic statistical analyses.
* Day‑to‑day administration of the CRIS and PACS systems and routine production of formal and informal reports.
* Use the Image Exchange Portal (IEP) to manage and support image exchange with external organisations.
* Frequent liaison with IT, suppliers and clinical staff to provide system support, troubleshoot downtime and maintain data integrity.
* Configure and troubleshoot connections between imaging equipment and the PACS/RIS system.
* Advise Trust staff on optimal use of imaging systems, deliver training, and disseminate knowledge.
* Create CDs and other image copies for multidisciplinary meetings and case studies.
* Run audits, administer user access and maintain accurate training records.
* Participate in system testing, training for upgrades and provide direct technical knowledge on problem solving.
* Ensure CRIS and PACS databases are updated and synchronised promptly after downtime.
* Promote best practice, new working methods and minimise system downtime.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience using bespoke IT systems, including PACS/RIS, is highly desirable. Full training on our PACS/RIS systems will be provided but prior knowledge is beneficial. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required. Ability to produce accurate reports using imaging data, think analytically and work under pressure in a high‑paced environment is essential.
Other Requirements
Travel between sites may be required at times. This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under current UK immigration rules; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
