Here at GXO, we are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our team at GXO head office based in Northampton. You will be a key link between the Finance Manager and Accounts Assistants within the relevant workstreams. You will work across the forefront of several key areas within our Accounting & Controllership Team including but not limited to, Fixed Assets, leases, Intercompany, Fuel Inventory and recharges. Supporting the Finance Manager and the transactional elements of the team will form a large part of the day-to-day function of this role.
This is a permanent, full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

What youll do on a typical day:
Providing Support with transactional workflow within Fixed Assets, Leases, Intercompany & Fuel workstreams functions
Supporting the preparation of Month End Reconciliations across all workstreams function, including providing commentary and analysis to other departments including FP&A and Procurement
Being the first point of contact with the wider business finance teams to address and resolve issues arising with customer related contracts
Ensuring SOX controls are adhered to, evidencing compliance on a monthly and quarterly basis
Supporting Audit tasks pertaining to all the above functions and reporting & Analysis across the various workstreams
Provide cover for transactional tasks and preparation of balance sheets reconciliations
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Strong understanding of accounting entries
Knowledge of Fixed Assets and related processes
Advanced Excel Skills
Working across multiple systems and utilising the skills of other departments
Collaborative working with other teams is essential
