Workday Engagement Manager – Kainos, Belfast, Northern Ireland
We are looking for an experienced Workday Engagement Manager to lead the successful implementation of Workday solutions for our customers. The role involves managing the full delivery lifecycle from pre‑sales through implementation and handover to Application Management Services (AMS), working closely with customer business teams and internal delivery teams.
Role Overview
The primary responsibility is to deliver global Workday programmes that are fit for purpose and commercially viable. You will drive scope, definition, and delivery of solutions, ensuring project planning, resourcing, milestone tracking, commercial management, and customer satisfaction are all met.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercially manage the implementation of global Workday programmes from pre‑sales through implementation to handover to AMS.
* Act as the key client interface between functional and technical teams and the client.
* Provide pragmatic domain experience (HCM, Finance, Payroll or relevant Workday capability) to offer functional insight and thought‑leadership.
* Manage all aspects of project delivery including planning, resourcing, milestone tracking, commercial management, and customer satisfaction.
* Lead and support blended teams of colleagues, client and partner resources to share knowledge and develop an integrated delivery ethic.
* Agree objectives, outputs, milestones, and timescales with the client, and manage associated contract and commercial terms.
* Identify requirements, business processes, application configurations, testing plans, and other artefacts to ensure shared understanding and facilitate knowledge transfer.
* Create well‑structured & accurate deliverables and present to client steering level groups to secure recommendations and agreement.
* Identify and act on opportunities to win business, including negotiating and closing at a senior client level.
Minimum Requirements
* Experience implementing back‑office systems with direct experience delivering Workday solutions within a consulting or IT services environment.
* Full lifecycle project management experience, from opportunity to requirement definition, functional design, implementation, data migration, system testing, UAT, go‑live and service management.
* Excellent customer focus, ability to assess needs, build relationships, and manage expectations, including resolving escalations.
* Commercial experience managing geographically distributed and blended teams of colleagues, client and partner resources.
* Strong commercial management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communicator, able to present to senior client audiences.
* Emerging role model within Kainos and the wider Workday ecosystem.
* Excellent business writing skills with experience in business cases, requirement documentation, tender documents, contracts, statements of work and change requests.
* Willingness to travel to customer sites in the same region; occasional out‑of‑region travel may be required.
Desirable
* Workday PM Certification.
* PRINCE2 (or similar) certification.
* Strong functional domain expertise, e.g., HR and Finance (including Payroll).
