Role Responsibilities of the Clinical Negligence Solicitor:
* Managing a caseload of multi-track clinical negligence claims from initial instruction through to resolution.
* Investigating liability and causation issues and obtaining expert medical evidence.
* Drafting legal documents including Letters of Claim, witness statements, and instructions to counsel.
* Negotiating settlements and representing clients in mediation and other forms of dispute resolution.
* Liaising effectively with clients, experts, counsel, and third parties throughout the claims process.
* Providing clear, empathetic legal advice to clients, often on sensitive and complex issues.
* Ensuring compliance with court deadlines, procedural rules, and internal quality standards.
* Assisting with mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge-sharing within the team.
Clinical Negligence Solicitor Candidate Profile:
* Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
* Grade B status (typically 4+ years PQE) with strong experience in clinical negligence work.
* Proven track record managing complex, high-value claims independently.
* Strong litigation, drafting, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication and client care abilities, with sensitivity to client needs.
* Proactive, organised, and capable of working to deadlines under pressure.
* A collaborative team player with a passion for access to justice.
