Job summary
Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow Core in Paediatric Otolaryngology (ENT) at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is primarily clinical based, available as soon as possible for a period of 12 months and will be based at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Main duties of the job
* The successful applicant will join the team providing care for children undergoing both secondary and tertiary ENT surgery.
* Candidates should have >2 years' experience of practising medicine.
* This post will provide ample opportunities to gain experience in the management of childhood ENT presentations in an elective setting and in managing childhood ENT emergencies.
* There will also be opportunities to assist in Paediatric ENT theatre sessions.
* The successful candidate will also be able to participate in audit and research within the department.
* The successful applicant will not have any on call duties.
* The post may suit an aspiring surgical trainee or a paediatric trainee (FY2/ST1 level) wishing to broaden their experience.
* Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.
* Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
Requirements
* Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
* Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
