The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead and grow our Specialist Coatings Business—a small, high-potential unit with ambitious growth plans. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership, shape strategy, and build capability in a division set to become one of WGM’s standout business streams.
You will:
1. Drive efficiency and operational excellence
2. Build strong internal and external relationships
3. Deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that exceed customer expectations—safely and profitably
Key Responsibilities
4. Provide strategic leadership for the Precision Surface Solutions Business
5. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team
6. Create and report on a Business Scorecard (Financial, Customer, H&S, Quality, People)
7. Collaborate with Transformation Directors to explore new ways of working
8. Implement process-led delivery with the Performance and Planning Director
9. Build relationships to maximize opportunities in England
10. Support and develop framework opportunities across AMP 8 in the English Water Sector
11. Work with Business Development to secure strategic opportunities
12. Recruit and deploy capable resources
13. Set team objectives/KPIs and monitor performance
What We’re Looking For
14. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in engineering, FM, infrastructure, or industrial services
15. Strong commercial and operational leadership skills (this is not a technical coating role)
