Overview
Senior Staff Nurse - Oncology Triage at Leaders in Oncology Care (HCA Healthcare UK). Location: London. Full-time 37.5 hours with a 12.5-hour shift pattern including nights and weekends. Permanent role. Salary: competitive depending on skills and experience plus shift allowance. The telephone triage team provides 24/7 nursing advice and care and forms part of the holistic service ensuring patients receive the best possible treatment when they need it.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a nurse-led telephone triage team to provide triage support across the HCA UK hospital network.
* Answer calls, assess patients, and provide nursing advice over the phone; also care for existing patients on the outpatient chemotherapy unit.
* Utilise your knowledge to identify potential emergencies and work with a wider multidisciplinary team to manage patients during treatment, including interventions following a triage call.
* Contribute to a varied role where you support patients through one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
What You’ll Need
* NMC registered Nurse
* Post-registration experience within Haematology setting
* UKONS Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment passport
* Significant experience administering SACT and managing related acute toxicities
* Clinical assessment skills
* Wide and evidence-based knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, Bispecific Antibodies)
Desirable
* Experience using EPIC Electronic Health Record
* UKONS Acute Oncology Passport
* Experience using the UKONS telephone triage tool
