- Structural Location: Rosyth, Fife Reporting To: Senior QC Inspector Business Area: Energy / Marine Contract: 16-week initial contract Rate: TBC Allowance: £45 per night radius allowance (up to 5 nights for candidates living more than 35 miles from site) Role Purpose The QC Inspector
- Structural is responsible for ensuring structural quality standards are met during shipbuilding activities.
The role supports the Senior QC Inspector and Quality Management team by carrying out inspections, coordinating verification activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities Carry out structural inspections and acceptance of ship structures Work within a fast-paced shipbuilding and marine construction environment Liaise with classification societies and inspection bodies as required Manage inspection and test records and maintain completion documentation Coordinate inspection activities and inspection schedules Conduct quality investigations and product verification audits Perform NDT inspections (MT, PT, UT) where qualified Complete inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner Monitor and communicate inspection progress and quality metrics Develop effective working relationships with production, engineering, and inspection teams Work at height and in confined spaces as required Demonstrate certified competencies through trade testing when required xjlbheb Qualifications and Experience HNC or SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent, essential) CSWIP 3.1 (essential) PCN Level 2 in MT or PT At least 5 years experience in welding inspection and NDT Experience within shipbuilding, marine, defence, or heavy manufacturing environments Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Security Requirements You will initially be on site under BPSS but must be able to work towards SC if required
