About the Company

Tyler Hill Consulting (now part of Zenexa Group) is a renewable energy developer who specialise end to end development of onshore renewable energy assets across the UK, from origination all the way through to RTB.

Tyler Hill Consulting recently received platform-level funding to develop, build and operate our

5GW pipeline of onshore renewable energy assets. Zenexa Renewables Limited has been set up to own these projects long-term to become a leading IPP platform to support the UK's transition towards net zero.

About the Role

Tyler Hill Consulting is seeking a driven and experienced Head of EPC to take ownership of the full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction process across our renewable energy project portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with dual responsibility for both grid connection EPC and power plant (balance of plant) EPC, spanning solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects across the UK and international markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects from design through to energisation, ensuring all phases of construction – including civil, electrical, and mechanical

works are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will build and lead a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, and act as the primary interface between engineering, procurement, commercial, and client-facing functions.

We are looking for a candidate with deep expertise across both the grid connection process

(ICP/IDNO, DNO/TO interface) and plant-side EPC delivery, with a proven track record on utility-scale renewable energy projects. Strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to operate across complex, multi-disciplinary environments are essential. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between engineering, project management, and client stakeholders, guaranteeing that design and technical objectives align with project requirements.

* Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary EPC team including project managers, engineers, site managers, and commercial professionals.
* Establish governance frameworks, delivery standards, and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality project outcomes across the portfolio.
* Act as the accountable leader for EPC delivery performance, reporting progress, risk, and financial performance to senior management and clients.
* Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, continuous improvement, and commercial discipline across the EPC function.

Grid Connection EPC

* Oversee the full grid connection EPC lifecycle, from initial design through construction, commissioning and energisation for HV and LV projects.
* Manage the technical and commercial interface with DNOs, IDNOs, and transmission operators, ensuring compliance with G99/G100, ENA Engineering Recommendations, and relevant connection agreements.
* Lead the ICP process, coordinating with accredited ICPs, DNOs, and network operators to secure connections efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Oversee substation design, build, and commissioning activities, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and associated civil infrastructure.
* Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, NRSWA, HAUC, and all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation throughout grid connection works.
* Coordinate wayleave, easement, and land access legal processes in conjunction with the legal and land teams. Plant EPC (Balance of Plant)
* Oversee the full plant EPC process for solar, wind, and BESS projects, encompassing civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical balance of plant (BoP) works.
* Manage procurement strategy and contractor selection for plant EPC packages, ensuring value for money, programme certainty, and technical compliance.
* Interface with OEM suppliers, specialist subcontractors, and owners’ engineers throughout the plant construction and commissioning phases.
* Ensure plant design documentation – including layouts, single line diagrams, civil drawings, and O&M documentation – is accurate, complete, and approved before construction.
* Oversee SCADA, energy management systems, and grid code compliance activities for plant assets, coordinating with technical and asset management teams.
* Manage the handover process from construction to operations, ensuring all commissioning milestones, punch lists, and as-built documentation are completed to standard.

Engineering & Design Oversight

* Lead the technical review and approval of design documentation, including specifications, schematics, single-line diagrams, civil drawings, and construction plans.

* Lead the negotiation, award, and management of EPC contracts, subcontracts, and supply agreements in coordination with the commercial and legal teams.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across the EPC portfolio, escalating issues where necessary.
* Manage project change control processes, ensuring variations are assessed, approved, and captured promptly. Support bid and proposal activities where EPC delivery expertise is required, including programme development, risk assessment, and cost estimation.

Stakeholder & Client Management.

* Act as the senior EPC point of contact for clients, investors, lenders, and owner's engineers, maintaining strong and productive relationships throughout project delivery.
* Provide regular, high-quality progress reports and executive updates to clients and internal stakeholders on programme, cost, quality, and risk.
* Coordinate with local authorities, planning bodies, and statutory undertakers to ensure smooth project delivery and regulatory compliance.
* Represent Tyler Hill Consulting in project meetings, site visits, and industry forums, projecting a professional and expert image.

* Excellent commercial acumen, with hands-on experience in EPC contract management, budget ownership, and cost control.
* Familiarity with legal agreements relating to land access, wayleaves, and easements.
* Strong experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, OEMs, and supply chain partners across complex project environments.
