Major Recruitment are currently seeking a reliability test technician/Reliability Processor for our prestigious client based in the Newton Aycliffe area Purpose of the Role * Support the operation of the reliability testing activity (selecting, scheduling, controlling and monitoring samples, executing reliability test plans). * Supporting the operation and maintenance of the in-house Failure Analysis activity. * Be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of department goal Working Hours: 2-shift pattern (early/late) Key Responsibilities Scheduling, monitoring and execution of reliability testing in accordance with reliability test plans. Preparation of samples for reliability testing. Supporting customer and reliability failure investigations. Failure investigations in support of process development, yield improvement, troubleshooting and problem investigation activities. Providing routine periodic analysis of known good product or process monitors to ensure ongoing compliance. Providing reliability and failure analysis reports and distribution of controlled data. Monitoring and reporting on performance indicators and activity levels within the areas. Updating a library of failure modes, new techniques and reference product images. Maintaining traceability for all activities Seek ways and means of improving methods and techniques currently employed. Archiving of completed test samples and data. Maintaining relevant records for the processes. Identify Safety Hazards in both working practices and equipment, implementing improvements wherever possible and reporting hazards in accordance with procedure. Ensure documentation is regularly reviewed and reflects current working practices. Monitoring equipment and jig performance. Providing basic maintenance checks of the equipment in the failure analysis and reliability areasPerson Specification Essential Experience & Skills Minimum of 3 years' experience in a mass production or high-volume manufacturing environment (electronics or semiconductors preferred). Basic knowledge of failure analysis techniques and the purpose of reliability testing. Hands-on experience preparing and handling samples, including working with chemicals. Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with data. Strong communication skills - able to clearly present findings to engineers, managers, and customers. Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a 2-shift pattern (early/late). Desirable Skills Experience operating reliability chambers (temperature, humidity, thermal cycling). Knowledge of microscope operation and ideally scanning electron microscopy (SEM). General understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing process. Previous involvement in quality or reliability testing.Education & Qualifications Minimum: City & Guilds or ONC in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (or equivalent qualification). Higher-level qualifications in electronics, materials science, or related fields desirable but not essential. Personal Attributes Positive and proactive approach to work.
