Band 2 - Health Care Support Worker

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity to join our Adult Acute Mental Health Pine Ward at The Redwoods Centre Shrewsbury. Pine ward is a mixed gender adult inpatient facility of 15 beds which provides care and support patients of 18 years old upwards.

Main duties of the job
* To provide support, and spend therapeutic time with an allocated group of service users with mental health needs.
* To promote service user's recovery through the delivery of high quality, outcome measured care and evidence based interventions.
* To assist Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans.
* Regularly report and effectively communicate service users' health status and care aims in care records and verbal reports to Registered Professional Staff members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including while supporting section 136 assessments and ECT treatment.

Job responsibilities
We provide inpatient facilities for working age adults with acute mental health problems and we are looking for caring, compassionate individuals to work within our acute service who are committed to providing high quality care and treatment to our patients.

This role will require you to work in shift patterns covering 24/7.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care OR NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care with demonstrable evidence of numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent GCSE's or Functional Skills)
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience as outlined below
Experience
* Experience of working as part of a team and delivering a customer focused service.
* Experience of working with people with Mental Health needs as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of being a service user or carer.
