We’re currently seeking an experienced Van Mobile Supervisor (Plumbing Bias) to join a growing contract covering 6 schools in the Bedford area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands‑on, with clear progression as the contract continues to expand.
🔧 The Role
This is a working supervisor position, where you’ll lead from the front—supporting your team on the tools while overseeing daily operations. As the contract grows, the role will naturally evolve into a more supervisory‑focused position.
👷 Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
* Managing reactive works, emergency breakdowns, and minor projects
* Ensuring all work is completed safely, in line with regulations, and within contractual time‑frames
* Completing and reviewing all required paperwork, reports, and compliance documentation
* Notifying clients of remedial works and ensuring timely completion
* Line‑managing a team of engineers and operatives, including training and development
* Ensuring all mandatory training and e‑learning is completed and up to date
* Coordinating with the Helpdesk to ensure effective resource allocation
* Participating in an on‑call escalation rota to provide out‑of‑hours support
* Supporting the Contract Manager and assisting the team as required
* Carrying out audits where necessary to maintain service standards
✅ About You
* Strong background in plumbing (essential)
* Previous experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role
* Comfortable balancing hands‑on work with leadership responsibilities
* Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and maintenance processes
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
