Overview
We are seeking an Interim Senior Project Manager for an Independent Research Centre to lead the fit-out and FF&E elements of a major building being delivered. This role will take ownership of the brief development, design coordination, procurement strategy and on-site delivery of all internal fit-out and FF&E components.
This is a key delivery role within a complex infrastructure programme, requiring strong technical competence, stakeholder engagement and experience in specialist fit-out environments.
Primary Purpose of the Role
To manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the buildings fit-out and FF&E workstreams - from defining the brief and shaping the design, to structuring the procurement approach and ensuring successful delivery, installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the fit-out and FF&E workstream
* Engage with design consultants to develop and finalise the fit-out and FF&E brief
* Drive design development, coordinating architects, lab planners, interior designers and MEP consultants through RIBA stages
* Develop and implement the procurement and package strategy for fit-out and FF&E
* Manage tendering, evaluation and contract award
* Oversee the on-site delivery, installation, integration and commissioning of all fit-out and FF&E items.
* Maintain control of programme, cost, risk and quality
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards
Essential Experience
* Strong track record delivering fit-out and/or FF&E packages on complex capital projects
* Experience with laboratories, research environments, technical spaces or specialist scientific fit-out highly desirable
* Demonstrable skill in brief development, design coordination and stakeholder management
* Experience developing procurement strategies, managing suppliers and overseeing contract delivery
* Proven ability to manage work within multi-phased or campus environments
* Strong programme, risk and quality management skills
* Able to work autonomously while collaborating across a diverse project and programme team.
