Are you enthusiastic about providing excellent customer service and ensuring vital records are accurate? If so, we invite you to join our Registration Service team at Bury Council as a Ceremonies Officer.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Work on our busy ceremony programme, registering or conducting statutory ceremonies at our registration office, external approved venues, or sometimes in religious buildings within the boundary of Bury Council.
Our Ideal Applicant Will
* Have experience of conducting and registering marriages and civil partnerships.
* Have experience of conducting citizenship ceremonies.
* Have excellent customer service skills, putting the customer at the heart of every conversation.
* Be organised and have good time management when completing tasks.
* Possess strong digital skills to create and maintain accurate records promptly.
* Be a confident communicator, able to deal with a wide range of customers; able to remain personable while asking technical questions and operating within a stringent legal framework. Full training on our processes will be provided.
These roles are one hundred annualised hours contracts. You will work your hours over the year, with the hours you work each week varying depending on demand. This will involve working Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. The annual salary will be pro‑rated. Work patterns are agreed in advance in accordance with the needs of the service, but there may be occasions when the officer is required to work outside of this pattern.
You will need to work a minimum of 100 hours per year, with opportunity to work more.
