Job description: Part time hours -7.30am - 8.45am plus 3pm - 5.30pm, options to do all or some sessions -Monday to Friday Term Time Only Job Overview As a Primary School Play Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a vibrant and engaging environment for children during their playtime at breakfast and afterschool clubs. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster their social, emotional, and physical development. You’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure that every child feels included, safe, and inspired to explore their creativity through play. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners! Responsibilities -Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. -Plan and implement fun, educational activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and physical activity. -Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities to meet their individual requirements. -Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging them to express themselves and build confidence. -Maintain a clean and organized play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition. -Collaborate with teachers to align play activities with classroom learning objectives. -Observe children's behavior and development, providing feedback to parents and educators as needed. -Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among children. Qualifications Experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with special education techniques and experience working with students who have disabilities is a plus. First aid certification is required to ensure the safety of all children under your care. Strong behavior management strategies are necessary for maintaining a positive environment. Background in early childhood education or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting will be considered an asset.
