Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will undertake varied financial tasks that will culminate in the production of forecasts, management accounts, and balance sheets for multiple legal entities within the group. They are embarking on significant change projects across the finance function and operations. Therefore, you will need a positive and proactive approach to process and systems improvements and a desire to help drive profitability and efficiency across the business.
Duties will include:
1. Preparation of management accounts and issuing them to senior managers.
2. Coordinating monthly P&L performance review meetings with the GM and operations team.
3. Working with the GM to ensure profitability is maximized.
4. Monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Handling accruals, prepayments, and posting monthly journals.
6. Managing intercompany transfers.
7. Processing monthly sales and purchase ledgers.
8. Updating the fixed asset register monthly, including posting depreciations.
9. Assisting in ad hoc tasks and projects.
What you'll need to succeed
* You will ideally be AAT Level 4 or beyond in qualification, with relevant accounting experience within a group or practice environment.
* Good IT skills, including Excel, Sage 50, and/or other accounting software such as MS Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle.
* Strong interpersonal skills, a commercial focus, and the ability to interpret numbers to aid business decisions.
* Good attention to detail, self-management, and creative problem-solving skills.
* Resilience, enthusiasm for change, and problem-solving capabilities.
