 
        
        Part Time Medical Receptionist required for a busy GP Practice
TheDalston Practice is looking for a part time receptionist to join ourfriendly practice team (hours per week 10-30, full time can also beconsidered depending on previous experience and performance).
Salary negotiable depending on experience (up to £13 p/h base for an excellent candidate with extensive experience) + significantperformance based bonuses in addition.

Main duties of the job
Excellent communication skills andtelephone manner is essential. Ability to work with other members ofthe team, and computer literacy is critical. Previous general practiceexperience is highly desirable, but not essential.
General receptionist duties include (but are not limited to):
Providing patients with an efficient, helpful and friendly service.
Responding to queries both on the phone and faceto face in a polite manner.
Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Booking appointments with an appropriate clinician accurately.
Keeping the reception areas clean and tidy.
Undertaking other general admin duties, e.g. scanning documents, sending referral letters to secondary care, etc.
Any other additional duties appropriate to the post asrequested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.

Job responsibilities
Our reception team is the first point of contact for ourpatients and other visitors to the practice. As such, members of the receptionteam must maintain high standards of professionalism and friendliness.
The post holder will:
Beresponsible to the Practice Manager for their actions, responsibilities and work
Work withthe wider practice team to ensure the highest standards of service delivery
Inconjunction with the practice manager, identify his/her own training anddevelopment needs and participate in periodic appraisals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Reception
Greet patients at the frontdesk, dealing with patients in a pleasant and accommodating manner
Makeappointments for patients whether via telephone or face to face
Answerthe telephone in a polite manner and make telephone calls to patients as needed
Open upthe reception, check emails, etc. at the start of business each day
Ensure thatthe reception areas and waiting areas are clean, tidy and welcoming at alltimes
Be ableto use the practices computer system effectively and efficiently
Ensurethat the Practice Manager is kept up to date about any patient complaints,compliments or other comments
Completeany other reasonable duties requested by the Practice Manager
General
Participatein practice meetings (including minute taking), and attend/complete internaland external training as required
Complywith the practices health and safety policy and safeguard the health andsafety of all staff, patients and visitors to the practice
Complywith the practices confidentiality procedures, and observe strictconfidentiality when dealing with patients and other parties
Complywith the practices data protection and data security policies
Maintainprofessional attire and a professional manner and appearance
Beflexible with hours of work to cover sickness and holidays, if required, which maysometimes be outside of the post holders normal working pattern.

Person Specification
Qualifications
 * GCSE grade A to C (or numerical grade equivalent) in English and Maths.
 * Qualification to Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline.
Experience
 * Ideally candidates will have at least 1 year experience in a GP setting as a medical receptionist and be comfortable using the EMIS Web computer system, although these criteria are not essential and suitable alternative experience will be considered.
