Facilities Manager - Operational Portfolio Team
The Council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio primarily comprising industrial, office, and retail assets, with some miscellaneous assets, valued at approximately £300 million, generating an annual rental income of over £19 million. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the Council, significantly exceeding income from Council Tax.
Following a reorganisation of property functions and recognising the important role Facilities Management plays within buildings occupied by BDBC staff, we are seeking to recruit a Facilities Manager to join the Operational Portfolio Team alongside a team of property professionals.
The post holder must be able to work effectively both within a team and independently when required. Their responsibilities will include ensuring that properties occupied by BDBC staff and other relevant properties are:
* Fit for purpose for staff, customers, and visitors
* Compliant with current regulations, e.g., fire risk assessments, fixed wire testing
* Providing a comprehensive facilities management service, including post and scanning
Developing the facilities function further and establishing good working relationships with consultants, internal and external stakeholders, and colleagues within Regeneration, Property, and the wider organisation are essential aspects of this role.
