Senior Business Development Manager – Optical Healthcare (GOC Registered)

Location: Bristol, England, United Kingdom (Field Based)

Territory: South West England

Salary: £50,000 Basic Salary + £12,000 Annual Bonus (OTE £62,000) + Company Car + Comprehensive Benefits Package


Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering with a global leader within the optical healthcare sector to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager for a strategically important territory across the South West of England.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded optical professional to combine clinical credibility with commercial influence, working closely with optical practices, clinicians, and business owners to drive growth, education, and customer engagement.


The Opportunity


This is not a traditional sales role.

Success comes through:

You will work closely with optical practices, clinicians, practice owners and regional stakeholders, helping customers maximise opportunities within their businesses whilst delivering commercial success across the territory.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and manage relationships with optical practices and key stakeholders across the South West region

• Deliver training, education and coaching programmes to clinicians and practice teams

• Support customers in identifying and implementing growth opportunities

• Develop and execute customer-specific business plans

• Influence clinical and commercial decision-making through consultative engagement

• Collaborate with internal commercial and clinical teams to achieve territory objectives

• Identify opportunities to increase customer engagement and service adoption

• Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs and competitor activity

• Represent the organisation at industry events, educational programmes and professional meetings

Who Were Looking For


Essential


• GOC-registered Optometrist, Contact Lens Optician (CLO) or Dispensing Optician (DO), or Strong Optical Experience

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills

• Commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset

• Excellent presentation and influencing ability

• Ability to manage a large geographical territory effectively

• Full UK Driving Licence


Desirable


• Experience within optical sales, account management, business development or training

• Experience working with optical practices or healthcare customers

• Strong understanding of the UK optical market

• Experience delivering education, coaching or clinical training

Location Requirements


Candidates should ideally be based within:

• Bristol

• Bath

• Somerset

or the surrounding areas to effectively support the South West territory.
