Location: Torbay and surrounding areas.
Hours: Flexible working, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Salary: £4 per hour
Age Range: 11–19 years
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive environment for learners with ASD, supporting them to reach their full academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for learners with ASD
* Assist the class teacher by delivering adapted lesson support tailored to individual needs and learning styles
* Encourage pupils to remain engaged, motivated, and confident throughout lessons
* Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment
* Be available for flexible, on-the-day cover when required
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working within SEN settings (ASD experience desirable)
* Flexible and reliable work availability
* A compassionate, positive, and proactive personality – someone who takes initiative and supports the team without prompting
* Ability to adapt to changing behaviour and remain calm under pressure
* Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow teacher guidance
* A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Hold a valid UK driving licence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
