Marketing Executive
Marketing Manchester (MM) is searching for a driven, ideas‑led Marketing Executive to become part of its vibrant team. You’ll play a key role in shaping, executing and measuring marketing campaigns that showcase Manchester as a premier destination for business and leisure visitors.
MM promotes Greater Manchester nationally and internationally as a place to visit, invest, meet and study. MM is the city-region’s destination marketing organisation, which leads on the visitor economy as the Local Visitor Economy Partnership for Greater Manchester and incorporates the Manchester Convention Bureau and Sports Bidding Unit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Business Tourism marketing campaigns, events, exhibitions, familiarisation visits and trade show activity.
2. Build and maintain productive relationships with partners and stakeholders, securing input and approval for marketing materials.
3. Manage marketing databases and deliver consistent, effective E‑CRM activity.
4. Coordinate with internal teams across Business Tourism, Media & Content, Finance and Design to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
5. Take ownership of specialist areas, developing and implementing creative marketing action plans aligned with wider strategy.
6. Contribute to the implementation of overall marketing strategy and delivery plans.
7. Engage stakeholders in the marketing planning process to ensure aligned messaging and shared outcomes that support the city’s vision.
8. Optimise and manage the marketing budget to maximise impact and demonstrate clear return on investment, while embedding sustainable destination practices across all activity.
About you
9. Strong marketing and communications expertise, supported by a relevant professional qualification in Marketing, Communications, Events Management or Tourism.
10. A confident, resourceful and collaborative executive with excellent interpersonal skills who actively encourages ideas and champions better ways of working.
Skills Required
11. At least three years’ experience in a marketing or events environment, with flexibility for candidates who can demonstrate equivalent skills.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using digital tools to support marketing activity.
13. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
14. Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with a track record of managing competing priorities.
15. Clear, confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
