Children’s Support Worker
Location: Ribchester, Lancashire.
Salary: Competitive – experience-based
Hours: 40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern (including late nights and sleep-ins)
About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs and complex behavioural challenges? We’re seeking a committed and empathetic individual to join our residential care team at a specialist SEN setting.
As a full-time Children’s Support Worker, you’ll:
* Support young people with daily tasks and personal care, promoting their physical and emotional well‑being.
* Assist with educational and social development, helping to create positive routines.
* Organise and lead enriching social activities—from cinema outings to baking sessions and holiday programmes.
* Help maintain a safe, homely environment by managing household duties like laundry, shopping, cleaning, and meal‑preparation.
* Participate in team meetings, liaise with clinical and educational professionals, and support compliance with Ofsted standards.
About you:
* Experience: You’ll have either support work or HCA experience. Experience in children’s residential care is desirable but not essential—full training provided.
* Driving licence: Full UK licence required—this role demands travel to off‑site activities and external appointments.
* Flexibility: You’re able and willing to work late evenings, sleep‑ins, weekends and holiday periods as part of a rota.
* Qualities: Empathetic, patient, and adaptable—able to build rapport and make thoughtful positive choices with the young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
