Are you passionate about supporting young minds and making a real difference in the classroom? We’re looking for a dedicated, experienced, and caring Assistant Psychologist to join our fantastic team! What you’ll be doing: Support and enhance the psychological wellbeing practice and access to education within the service. Support the wider clinical and pastoral team as appropriate. Work directly with children and young people and provide psychologically based support/training to school and as determined by the identified needs of the children and young people (as appropriate to level of training and competence). Build positive relations with parents/carers to encourage family involvement in their child’s progress Maintain accurate notes, records and evaluations where appropriate, baseline and intervention reports and take a lead on the collection of the routine wellbeing outcome measures. What we’re looking for: Experience working in an education setting, working with students with Special Educational Needs – especially Autism (ASD), Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia/dyspraxia The ability to tailor your skills to meet the needs of each individual child Someone who is kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support A team player who will uphold the mission, values and goals of High Peak School A can-do attitude Great communication and interpersonal skills A passion for education and helping students thrive Someone who is able to commute to Disley, Cheshire Why work for us? Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties. High Peak School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
