We have several outstanding opportunities for ENGINEERING STUDENT PLACEMENTS at our facility located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.
Successful applicants will be assigned to work as DESIGN ENGINEERS or TEST & DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERS working in teams responsible for a range of the following key accountabilities:
1. Validating new product releases and updates
2. Testing of trucks and components to assess performance and demonstrate compliance
3. Leading development and innovation projects
4. Concept and design of parts and assemblies
5. Develop design changes using 3D CAD and produce engineering drawings
6. Generate bills of materials for engineering release
7. Generate Aftermarket Parts Information to support maintenance of trucks
8. Review development logs and propose interim and permanent corrective actions
9. Provide technical support to production departments
10. Investigate technical issues using various problem-solving processes
11. Redesign products to improve performance and value
12. Provide general support to the Team and assisting with departmental improvements
Placement in other Engineering departments may also be available.
Knowledge Required:
13. Candidates must be students working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline, with this student placement part of their degree course
14. Understanding of basic mechanical engineering concepts
15. Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
16. Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and experience using 3D CAD
17. Competent in MS365 Office packages
18. Strong teamworking and communication skills, proactivity and initiative and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
19. Shortlisting criteria may be enhanced as necessary.
