General Description
The University of Warwick is recruiting an Assistant Professor in Quantitative Analysis of Screening to join its rapidly expanding Warwick Screening team within the School of Applied Health. This permanent academic post offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to world‑leading research at the intersection of quantitative methods and health screening. The successful candidate will play a central role in the Early Detection using Information Technology in Health (EDITH) trial, an innovative randomised controlled trial investigating the application of artificial intelligence to breast cancer screening. This role involves significant engagement with primary research, statistical analysis, trial management, and dissemination of findings in collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams. As part of the Warwick Screening team, you will work with statisticians, trialists, health economists, epidemiologists, and systematic reviewers to deliver impactful research that informs national and international policy in health screening. This position supports career development through opportunities to contribute to grant applications, scholarly publications, and independent research initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should hold an excellent first degree and a PhD in a relevant field, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health sciences, or a related quantitative discipline. Postdoctoral experience in applied primary research is expected, with a background in health screening research, trials, observational studies, or related areas preferred. Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, and effective communication and organisational skills. Knowledge of health or breast cancer screening context is advantageous but not essential.

Required expertise/skills

* Substantial experience in quantitative research methods applicable to health or screening research.
* Demonstrated statistical and analytical skills, including experience with trial data and analysis.
* Proven ability to contribute to research design, data handling, and interpretation of complex quantitative results.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for academic publishing and presentations.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Salary details
The salary range for this role is approximately £47,389 to £56,535 per annum, commensurate with skills, experience, and academic credentials.
