Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, ensuring they meet high standards and specific dietary requirements.
2. Aid in receiving and managing stock, ensuring all goods are of the expected quality and weight.
3. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, taking the lead on cleaning duties in the cook’s absence.
4. Adhere to Health and Safety at Work Regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all.
5. Support the Cook and Head of Home in meal preparation and cooking.
6. Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills.
7. Undertake any additional duties within your role’s salary grade as required.
Requirements
* Understand various dietary needs and food quality assessment.
* Knowledgeable of kitchen hygiene practices and safe work procedures.
* Familiar with equal opportunity practices in the workplace.
* Ability to prepare and present a variety of dishes attractively for groups of up to 80 people.
* Capable of efficient communication with clients and colleagues.
