Employability Lecturer
Location: East Surrey College – Redhill; also John Ruskin College (Selsdon). Hours: Part time (4 days a week, flexible working days). Salary: £30,222.40 – £41,718 (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience).
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Employability Lecturer to join our Foundation Learning and Adult department. This role is ideal for someone committed to equipping learners with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to succeed in the modern workplace. You will plan and deliver lessons and appropriate learning resources, working with the Director of Learning and the departmental team to provide first-class training and help learners achieve at the highest levels, thereby enhancing their employability skills.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver lessons for employability and life-skills development
* Utilise appropriate learning resources and assess learner progress
* Collaborate with the Director of Learning and the departmental team to support learner outcomes
* Support learners, including those who are long-term unemployed, to gain skills and re-enter work
Qualifications and Requirements
* Maths and English at GCSE/Level 2 equivalent
* Previous teaching experience
* Experience in working with young people/adults with barriers to work
* Experience in motivating and inspiring individuals to achieve and progress
* Knowledge of the benefits system (desirable)
* Knowledge of the Construction industry (desirable)
* A teaching qualification (desirable)
