JOB PURPOSE
You will be the key finance point of contact for the Business, providing first class finance business partnering to the local management team whilst being the gate keeper in terms of ensuring that all Financial Reporting is accurate, robust and well presented; to include actuals, budgets and forecasts.
You will help the finance team support the business to achieve their objectives, including growth in revenues as well as maintaining and growing profitability. You will be a role model to junior members of the team, coach and challenge them to ensure they achieve their potential and future career ambitions. You will live the grs values and be a positive influence within the business and team and care for others.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a critical role with primary responsibility for two of our local businesses based in the South West, reporting into the Building Products divisional finance team.
* Own the monthly management accounting processes and controls, providing in depth analysis of performance against KPIs and budget.
* Assist the local management team in understanding underlying business performance and the key drivers for growth opportunities.
* Own the local budget & forecast preparation process and assist management in presenting the annual budget to Group and submission of monthly updated forecasts.
* Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all risks are controlled and understood.
* Support the year end external audit process and provide all required information in a timely manner, displaying a "right first time" attitude.
* Be an active member of the Finance Management team, sharing knowledge and contributing to the overall progress of the function.
* Coach junior finance team members and provide feedback and support as necessary.
* Answer ad-hoc queries from the business.
* Support local management and central finance team on key strategic projects.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
* Qualified ACCA / CIMA with 5+ years relevant experience.
* Good communication skills - able to present financial information to local management and report into central finance team remotely.
* Able to provide challenge to local management, hold to account against budget and agreed action items.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Able to work on own initiative and prioritise.
* Good attention to detail.
* Advanced excel skills.
* A 'Can do' attitude.
