As a Ward Assistant at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital, Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh SO53 2DW, you’ll play an important role in delivering delicious meals and a positive experience to patients, staff, and visitors.Your cheerful attitude and friendly interactions can brighten someone’s day and bring comfort during challenging times. Assemble patient meals accurately on trays for presentation. Ensure stock control and rotation procedures are followed. Complete all required audit and quality standards documentation. Provide general assistance throughout the catering department as needed. Adhere to all legislation, client, and company policies regarding patient meal service. Wash crockery and cutlery used in meal service using automated dishwashing equipment. Transport food service trolleys for patient meals. Conduct temperature checks of food and record results before serving to patients. Ensure patients requiring special diets are properly catered for. Serve meals attractively and according to specified portion sizes. Monitor and report patient meal wastage levels. Keep ward kitchens clean and hygienic; report any equipment faults. Maintain agreed stock levels in ward kitchens. Repeat: Ensure stock control and rotation procedures are followed. Repeat: Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required. Adhere to all legislation and policies from both the Trust and the company regarding patient meals. Comply with any reasonable request from a manager.
