1. Ensure that best practices are implemented and maintained within the cardiac catheter laboratory and Dickens recovery area.
2. Be able to Scrub for a case load of patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation, pacing and ICD.
3. Be able to scrub for more complex cases for example proceed to PCI, Cardiac Pacing, Cardioversion, insertion of IABP, IVUS, and pressure wire studies, EPS Studies.
4. Run for Pain Injections, Vascular Access cases and Interventional Radiology.
5. Carry out pre-operative assessment of patients prior to procedures.
Person Specification:
6. Hold a BSc in Adult nursing (or equivalent) and a valid NMC registration.
7. Have significant post registration experience.
8. Have experience of working in a busy cardiac catheter laboratory, assisting with pacing, angiogram, PCI, Electrophysiological studies or CCU department.
9. Have experience of leading an area in the absence of the lead or Manager.
10. A post graduate qualification in cardiology and a mentorship qualification are desirable but not essential.
