Behaviour Learning Support Assistant – Primary School, Southampton
Location: Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:45am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Initially through Teaching Personnel, with the potential to move to a direct school contract

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southampton is seeking a full-time Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September.
About the Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development
Work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SEND team
Help create a safe, supportive, and structured environment for learning
Candidate Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (school, care, medical, or home setting)
Calm, resilient, and positive approach to behaviour management
Commitment to supporting children's progress and wellbeing
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
Availability to complete Teaching Personnel’s vetting process during the summer holidays
This is a term-time only position, ideal for someone looking for a consistent and rewarding role. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to transition to a permanent school contract following an initial period through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
