Job summary
As a Healthcare Assistant at Lionwood Medical Practice in Norwich, Norfolk, you'll be an integral part of our healthcare team, responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures. Your role will ensure accurate specimen labelling, maintain a safe and hygienic work environment, and contribute to the overall patient care experience. Main duties of the job
1. Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, adhering to established protocols.
2. Verify patient identity and specimen labelling to maintain sample integrity.
3. Prepare blood collection equipment, ensuring proper sterilisation and disposal protocols are followed.
4. Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a clean work area.
5. Record and document collection and procedure information accurately.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
7. Support your development and training in managing long-term conditions in line with local and national guidance.
