I am looking for an Estate Fire Safety and Statutory Compliance Officer. The primary role responsibilities will be to oversee & ensure fire safety and compliance across multiple sites in the area. This role requires expertise in fire safety regs, compliance and risk management to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. You will conduct regular audits and inspections ensuring all sites comply with legal requirements.
Key Duties:
Implement and monitor fire safety strategies and procedures across their estate.
Support on fire risk assessments, fire drills, and ensure emergency procedures are in place and updated. Deliver the actions raised in any Fire Risk Assessment to ensure the safe operation of the Estate.
Ensure that all fire safety systems (e.g., alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting) are regularly tested, maintained, and compliant with statutory requirements.
Oversee compliance with all relevant building and estate-related regulations, including health and safety, electrical safety, gas safety, asbestos management, and water hygiene (Legionella).
Qualifications:
NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent.
Accredited qualification in Health and Safety, such as IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar fire safety and compliance role in a live environment, ideally within an educational, public sector, or multi-site environment.
37 hours per week
35 days AL (plus bank holidays and between 1 or 2 weeks shutdown over Christmas)
21.5% employer contribution, 6.8% employee
